We are pleased to announce that our Second Annual Garden Art Show will be going on August 13 & 14. Come wander our gardens, meet & talk with local artists as they display their work throughout the nursery. You will also get a chance to sample some wines from local wineries and get a chance to talk to the wine makers themselves.

Art Show: 9 AM – 5:30 PM
Wine Tasting: 11 AM – 5:00 PM

Cora Louise Itoh Peony

Paeonia x ‘Cora Louise’

Producing up to 50 large, semi-double blossoms in a season this Peony requires no staking for its dark lavender centered white flowers. These sturdy pleasantly scented blooms make excellent additions to any bouquet.

Cold hardiness zones: 4 – 8
Light needs: Full Sun
Water Needs: Needs regular watering – weekly, or more often in extreme heat.
Special feature: Prolific Flowering

Care Information

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. For a neat appearance, remove old foliage before new leaves emerge. Divide clumps every 2 to 3 years in early spring

Windcliff Pachysandra

Pachysandra axillaris ‘Windcliff’

This rare species of Pachysandra is a great addition to Monrovia’s Dan Hinkley Collection. A distinctive evergreen groundcover, Windcliff Pachysandra has noticeably fragrant white flowers in early spring, repeating again in autumn and grows just four to six inches high.

Cold hardiness zones: 6 – 9
Light needs: Full to Partial Shade
Water Needs: Needs regular watering – weekly, or more often in extreme heat.
Special feature: Repeat fragrant blooms

Care Information

Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. As a groundcover, space plants 2 ft. to 3 ft. apart, (closer for faster coverage). Control weeds with mulch until the plants cover the area.
